Take a breather

Slight secluded, cozy breakfast place for a weekday is what I would describe Third Village.
I chance upon this place while I was having my lunch break for my RSA exam at Westfield Towers. If there was a theme for the cafe I would say its close to “simplicity”. I like how it is set up in a way that it does not have extreme interiors that would wow you but instead make you feel warmth and homely when you enter the cafe.

The breakfast menu is not huge and they are very simple dishes. But you’d be surprise by the taste of it. Tried the scramble eggs and toast + skinny latte, and I must say I love it! Its never easy to make a perfect scramble eggs, as simple as it seems, sometimes, to get a tasteful scramble require skills.

Third Village is definitely a place where you can spent a quiet brunch/coffee session with a couple of friends before hitting the city for shopping. (Ps: It is walkable from Third Village to the city, would just take awhile. Possibly around 15 - 20mins.)

Circular Quay Station.
If there was anyone that asked me where is the best place to be in Sydney. I would say it’s Circular Quay. Reason: Its near where Sydney Habour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and The Rocks are located, and, is easily one of the most beautiful areas in Sydney.

It might seem across as a rather touristic recommendation, especially to those who are living in Sydney, but trust me, besides the fact that this is an iconic tourists area, it has got quite abit of ‘treasures’ to look forward to (some would be mentioned through my next few related articles or later updates of ‘must visit’ food places).

Beautiful blue skies.

Living just 5 minutes walk away from Circular Quay, I’ll my try best to give a more lifestyle and non-touristic view point of living in Sydney city and around the quay.
The best time and most romantic time to be around the quay area would be an early weekend morning (from Sunrise till 8 or 9 am). I love sunrise and cold fresh morning air. Therefore, a walk along the quay towards the habour bridge or the opera house is a big enjoyment and makes me feel energetic to welcome a new day. Circular Quay on a weekend morning is usually very quiet and the only people you will see are people who do morning runs or those that are heading to work, tourists and crowds would only start flooding in possibly around 9am.

Tips: Might sound lame, BUT if you wanna take photos of the habour bridge or opera house and avoid lots and lots of human heads in your photos, this is the best timing. =X
I must say after living for a month around the quay area there are still many places that I have yet to explore. It is the home to many restaurants. Posh restaurants such as Wildfire, Quay and Peter Doyles at the Quay located at the Overseas Passenger Terminal are those that are most commonly recommended due to having an excellent habour view. I haven’t got a chance to try at any of these but there’s a bar that I really like that is located just beside Wildfire. It’s called Cruise Bar. It is one of the best place I reckon to chill on a sunny sunday afternoon, feeling the sunsetting and looking at one of 20th century’s most iconic and renowned architecture (also a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Sydney Opera House. I shan’t comment on the food and drinks of the bar, after all the last time I went there I didn’t even have any alcohol nor food. Generally, in terms of a nice hang out place, Cruise Bar is definitely worth a visit.

For now I will keep my article not longer than this. I hope you all will enjoy the photos I have taken. ^^
Ps: In the next few related articles that I will follow up with. I will share some of the things I have done/see around the circular quay area. So stay tune!

Summer in Sydney has got my best memories. Its nothing this grey grey autumn can be compared to. Music festivals, different summer events like moonlight cinema, laying on the grass, picnic in the parks and most importantly beaches. My favourite thing to do in summer here would be to head to the beach, even though I didnt get to spent heap loads of time at the beach, I’ll always make an effort to whenever I have time. Most beaches in Sydney have good big waves in comparison to beaches in Melbourne such at St Kilda Beach. I hardly go into the waters and the first ever time I try, it took me by surprise. It scared me actually, how the strength of the waves were really strong and they pull you in and out to the sea. I must admit I’m so bad with waves and I tend to freak out. Guess its just the amount of time I spent in the waters are not enough for me to get use to it.
So last summer (Dec 2010 - Feb 2011), the few beaches that I frequent were Bondi, Coogee and Maroubra. Especially Coogee which is pretty near to Randwick where I was living for about 3 weeks, while house hunting,

So, everything begins with an introduction…
Hi all readers, my name is Angelina or otherwise known as Ange by most of my friends.
Over the past 7 months, my life have fall into some sort of a whirlwind. Things happen so fast and past so fast it was so hard for me to be reacting to each and every incident that had happen within almost just 210days. From the major break up -> Visiting Sydney -> Back to Singapore -> Melbourne -> Graduation -> Moving to Sydney -> Parties -> Social -> Meeting new people -> New friends, new life, new job -> Brand new me. And so ya, I’m here. Embracing my new life in Sydney. =)
I hope that this blog would allow me to detail parts of my life in Sydney, the lifestyle, the places I go to, places I love and would like to share, and the things I love about Sydney. Nothing too personal or emotional but still good enough to share. <3
